Oh It's Chewin' Time Again.......

What happened to my sweet little princess who never chewed a thing or took anything that didn't belong to her????  She has disapperared and now we have the teenager!!  I knew this time would come but secretly hoped she'd be the exception. NOT!!  Everything seems to be fair game at the moment.....Gene's volunteer fireman hat...replaced that $13......one of the tv remote controls...replaced that $15....and last night, Gene's cell phone....replaced that $50.....almost got one of our land line cordless phones but I heard it drop on the floor and went running and rescued it. Oh yeah, and the replacement fire dept hat nearly got it today.  Plus pencils, pens, pieces of wood in the back yard, and fabric in my sewing room....too mcuh to mention. She is very good about sharing however and gives things back to us.  And of course she's teaching us about putting things in safe places. Then she turns those big amber eyes on us and smiles and thinks she's still a princess!!  This too shall pass.....I guess.

But overall, Reily is a darling....she's been going to work with me and to the drugstore and library and to get the oil changed in the car. At Walgreen's we had to stand (sit) in line for about 5-10 minutes but she charmed everyone and I got to do the CCI spiel to everyone. She was a perfect lady. With her cape and Gentle Leader on, she is fine....but at home...well, we're still training.


Hard to believe that it was a year on Sept 15th that she arrived in Albuquerque with her sister, Ojai.  They were so small and wiggly and cuddly....she's still wiggly and cuddly...not so small. Weighed her the other day and she's around 52 lbs. She had a week or so where she didn't want to eat....nothing...I tried all the tricks and called Stu for advice, etc.  But she's back on her food now and gobbling it down.  Not sure what that was all about but for now, we're good. Never was lethargic or anything...just not eating. But then, never have known a lab that starved - eventually they'll eat.

Speaking of eating, Levi the Magnificent has just informed me that it's time for supper.
